About RGAA

RGAA was formed in 1998 by a group of oil and acrylic artists  to promote and advance the use of their media.  Membership is open to anyone interested in art and/or the use of a variety of media.

RGAA Activities:

 

· Sponsors an annual juried show, ˇEncantada!  Click here for current Prospectus

· Co-sponsors MasterWorks of New Mexico

       (http://www.masterworksnm.org).

· Supports awards for works not under glass.

· Provides additional exhibition venues.

· Conducts ten educational meetings featuring professional demonstrations and lectures, critiques, educational resources, referrals and business training.

· Sponsors workshops.

· Publishes ‘The Palette’,  RGAA’s monthly newsletter.

 

Meetings are normally held from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon on the third Saturday each month at the Heights Cumberland Presbyterian Church located on the southeast corner of Academy and Moon in northeast Albuquerque.

Included Media and Styles:

 

Artists who paint in oils, acrylics, casein,  egg tempera, oil  pastels, mixed media, encaustic or innovative media which are safely exhibited without being covered with glass or other protective covering are encouraged to participate.  These media may be painted on canvas, canvas board, paper, cloth, masonite and a variety of other grounds.  Traditional, classic, contemporary, or avant-garde painters are welcome.  Creativity, originality and the development of personal expression are encouraged.
